My Interests
Things that interest me are movies and music. Ever since I was young, the things that always managed to get through to me were music and movies. Many times when I was supposed to be working on homework or a project, I would sit around watching movies or listening to music. I could never figure out why, but they really are what matter to me.
Some of my favorite movies are Goemon, Fight Club, Once. And some of my favorite bands are Sick Puppies, Foo Fighters, Gorillaz, and Rise Against. I actually have a blog that I made, after coming to computer science class, where every week I review various cds and movies. And it also gives me an opportunity to find new artists and movies.

My name is Carl Nevill. Some people call me Andy, it's short for my middle name, but it really doesn't matter, which ever you prefer. I am a Digital Film/Video Production Major who ironically doesn't have a Film class this first quarter. The closest thing I do have to a Film class is Fundamentals of Design. But i honestly don't think it's that bad, I'll be getting some of my gen. ed. credits out of the way.
Recently I moved to Bensalem so I could be closer to the school. Now I commute every morning. It's quite nice really because I have about 45 minutes of down time to do whatever. Listen to music read a book, or even do the last part of an assignment if I need to.
I came to the art institute because I found it to be the best place I could get too. I was looking at the Film Academy in New York, but the pricing there was ridiculous. So after looking over the program and taking the open house tour I decided this was the best place because of the diverse experience I would get with the Film major.
I actually have several Inspirations because it is hard to really decide on just one. Kazuaki Kiriya is one. He is a director from Japan who has a very unique style when It comes to movies. He has only made 2 feature length films right now but hopefully he will continue making more.
Another Influence of mine is none other then James Cameron. Anyone who is anyone knows who this man is. The most recent movie he has made is Avatar. A lot of people thought this movie wasn't very good, and didn't live up to the hype. But these people clearly aren't able to recognize the things behind the camera. He developed new technology basically sp he could film the things he wanted to. And on top of that this was his dream film. He started it when he was 16 and any director who makes their dream film is a very lucky individual.
And another huge influence for me is the famous Akira Kurosawa. He is basically the figurehead for martial arts movies in Japan. He is known for his gritty realistic scenarios in his movies. Which in the 1960's was very controversial.
